FOMAA is recognized as the leading national Malayalee umbrella organization which is comprised of 73 local Kerala/ Malayalee associations throughout North America and Canada. We have proven our commitment to bringing together Keralites from across North America to prove we are a growing, close-knit community. FOMAA is committed to protect its member’s cultural, social, economic and linguistic damage or loss when they arrive in North America. FOMAA provides an emotional, psychological, economical and linguistic support to withstand the challenges when a member face the realities of a foreign culture by convening seminars, forum and through financial as well as educational help lines.

GOAL : FOMAA conducts all home bound cultural programs through its local member associations to revive the nostalgic feelings of the older generations and to instill an awareness about the cultural roots among the younger generations. Through experience and appreciating, there should be a way to stimulate people of Kerala origin to take part in the leadership roles, be mentors, and speak up and be community leaders. They will learn the ways to intermix cultures rather than being confused, be positive and confident of themselves.

GOAL: The opportunity to befriend someone allows a sense of comfort amongst an individual. It will awaken an appreciation for various generations to communicate through a secured and safe forum.
FOMAA will actively take part in the continuous learning process of how to merge with the new culture and to fill the gap between American culture and traditional aspects of Kerala, so that members who feel that they are left underappreciated will be able to find that missing link that makes them feel so.

FOMAA will provide the opportunities for those willing to enrich and expand their minds to a cross cultural experience by adventuring the various traditions, arts, languages, etc. by providing them a social forum. By providing a social forum, we can communicate amongst other cultural/ ethnic organizations along with fostering an understanding and friendship amongst others to coordinate activities of a common interest. (Seminars, arts programs, picnics, banquets, charity organizations, sports activities, classes).Once an individual’s interest in the organization is made, it is up to the FOMAA to maintain that interest by allowing the individual member to grow into the organization. By actively involving, FOMAA will be able to transcend itself to being one of the most diverse Malayalee Associations in America in terms of active participants. In doing so, FOMAA is to coordinate various programs throughout the year in where there are various sub-sections (debates, cultural arts programs, talent shows, healthy competitions, sport activities, seminars) at an affordable cost.

GOAL : FOMAA will have mentors leading its forums, trainings and workshops to encourage intellectual conversations that instill a sense of importance amongst each active member. In doing so, members will be encouraged to discharge their civic duties while leading a life in the United States and inspire the members to actively involve the social, political, cultural, educational and economic spheres of this country. This will also encourage the members to contribute in various aspects and promote the society where the members find existence and living
